Small mug made of new bone porcelain decorated in pink with a pen drawing of the Amsterdam canals. There is an extensive text on the back. "Believe it or not, Amsterdam is built on poles! The reason for that is that the city bealt on peat and clay and the wooden poles prevent the buildings from sagging. For this reason even trees are planted on poles! Did you know the Royal Palace on the Dam square is built on 13659 poles ? Amsterdam has 165 canals which always have been used for water management. Today many people live on the canals in houseboats. Also the Flowermarket is a unique place to visit: the flowershops are located on boats, floating on the canal!"
