Dutch masterpieces in pocket size
Many of our boxes and mirrors carry famous Dutch art. Vincent van Gogh painted Almond Blossom in 1890 to celebrate the birth of his nephew: white blossom against a bright blue sky, a symbol of new life. That's why it's such a popular motif for birthdays and new-baby gifts. Johannes Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring is the highlight of the Mauritshuis in The Hague, while the flower still lifes of Jan Davidsz. de Heem and the tulips of Maria Sibylla Merian date from the Dutch Golden Age.

Frequently asked questions about pillboxes and mirror boxes
What's the difference between a mirror box and a pocket mirror? +
A mirror box opens on a hinge, so the mirror stays protected in your bag. A pocket mirror is a flat, single mirror with a printed back. It's even thinner and lighter, and will slip into the card slot of your purse.
What else can I use a pillbox for? +
For anything small that's easily lost: rings and earrings when travelling, mints, hair clips or spare buttons. The heart-shaped boxes are decorative enough to sit on a bedside table or dressing table, too.
Can I take a manicure set in my hand luggage? +
That depends on the airport and airline, especially if the set contains scissors or nail clippers. Check the rules for your flight before you travel. If in doubt, pack it in your hold luggage.
