Description / Koelkastmagneet "Papeneiland"

Het witte gebouw op deze magneet is Cafe Papeneiland, een typisch bruin café, in een gebouw uit 1642, op de hoek van de Prinsengracht en de Brouwersgracht in Amsterdam. Rooms Katholieken mochten na de alteratie van 1578 hun geloof niet meer openlijk belijden. Het in 1642 opgerichte cafe Papeneiland 'verbergt' in haar kelder een oude vluchtroute voor de 'Papen' van de schuilkerk de Posthoorn op Prinsengracht 7. Deze magneet is gemaakt van kunssteen en meet 5 cm bij 4 cm , en is 2 cm diep.
