The history of KING started in Sneek in the Northern part of the Netherlands, in 1902. Peppermint was made in the small bakery of the "De Vries" family. Peppermint had been known for centuries and was usually sold in chunks. Later this was extended to various sizes of tablets. The "De Vries" family was ahead of their time and in 1922 decided to rebrand their peppermint to the KING brand.
