Clogs and flowers: few things are more Dutch. Think of the bulb fields in spring, the famous flower auctions, the tiny pavement gardens along the canals and windowsills full of geraniums. How a seed clog works
- 1Add water: pour a little water over the soil tablet. The dried soil swells up and fills the clog.
- 2Sow: scatter the seeds over the soil and press them in lightly.
- 3Find a sunny spot: place the clog on a bright windowsill or in a sheltered spot outdoors and keep the soil moist.
- 4Enjoy: before long the first green shoots appear. Plants getting too big? Simply move them to a pot or the garden.
Which flowers can you grow?
Daisies
The modest little flower found on every Dutch lawn. White with a yellow centre, cheerful and easy-going. A lovely gift for children or a reminder of a summer in the Netherlands.
Forget-me-nots

Frequently asked questions about seed clogs
When is the best time to sow the seeds? +
Outdoors, it’s best to sow in spring once the risk of frost has passed. Indoors on a bright, warm windowsill you can sow for much of the year, although plants grow more slowly in winter due to the lack of light.
Do I need to add soil? +
No. Every clog contains a compressed soil tablet. Once you wet it, the soil expands and fills the clog by itself. All you need is water and a sunny spot.
Can flower seeds be shipped abroad? +
We ship within the Netherlands and worldwide. Please note that some countries, such as Australia and New Zealand, have strict rules on importing seeds and plant material. We therefore recommend checking the regulations of the destination country before ordering. Within the European Union this is usually not a problem.
