Delft Blue Christmas Baubles & Ornaments
Give your Christmas tree a typically Dutch touch with windmills, tulips and floral motifs.
View ornamentsIn the Netherlands, Christmas lasts two whole days, so there's plenty of time to enjoy a beautifully decorated tree and a well-chosen gift. At De Holland Winkel you can give the festive season a Dutch touch with Delft Blue Christmas baubles and ornaments featuring windmills, tulips and canal houses, and with Dutch Christmas gifts in a festive gift box. For your own living room, as a corporate gift, or to send to family and friends abroad.
Christmas the Dutch way: Delft Blue in the tree and a gift with a story
A Dutch Christmas has a rhythm all of its own. Eerste and Tweede Kerstdag (Christmas Day and Boxing Day), gourmetten with the family (everyone cooking their own bites on a tabletop grill), a Christmas stollen on the table and a tree that has been glowing since early December. What you hang in that tree says a lot about you. That's why more and more people choose Christmas decorations with a Dutch story: a bauble with a windmill landscape, an ornament shaped like a canal house, or one featuring the Girl with a Pearl Earring.
De Holland Winkel has been selling Dutch souvenirs and gifts since 2002. On this page you'll find everything we have for Christmas, from individual hanging ornaments to complete Christmas gifts in a gift box.
Our Christmas collection
Delft Blue Christmas baubles and ornaments
The heart of our collection. Baubles with windmills, tulips, a peacock or the kissing couple, and ornaments shaped like canal houses, little clogs, bicycles, angels and stars. Many are made of ceramic with gold accents, so they stand out beautifully against the green of the tree.
Christmas gifts and gift sets
Rather not put something together yourself? Choose a ready-made Christmas gift, such as a set of Delft Blue baubles in a gift box, a box of Dutch hanging ornaments or a Christmas hamper with cheese, chocolate or stroopwafels.
A piece of the museum in your tree
Baubles and ornaments featuring Dutch masterpieces: Rembrandt's Night Watch, Vermeer's Milkmaid and Girl with a Pearl Earring, Fabritius's Goldfinch and a skating scene by Hendrick Avercamp, the painter of the Dutch winter.
Festive touches for the home
Complete the picture with ceramic reindeer and little Christmas trees, Christmas bells, candles and napkins for Christmas dinner. Lovely on the windowsill or the festive table, too.
Why Delft Blue suits Christmas so well
Delft Blue was born in the seventeenth century, when potters in Delft set out to imitate precious Chinese porcelain. The blue-and-white earthenware soon became a Dutch icon. In a Christmas tree, the combination works surprisingly well: the cool blue and white bring snow and ice to mind, and a touch of gold makes it instantly festive. A Delft Blue bauble isn't throwaway decoration, either. You hang it up again every year, and it often grows into a collection that is passed down from generation to generation.
A Dutch Christmas gift for everyone
- ✓For family abroad: a Dutch Christmas in a box, for anyone celebrating far from home.
- ✓For collectors: add a new bauble or a year bauble to the collection every Christmas.
- ✓For colleagues and business contacts: an original alternative to the standard Christmas hamper, with a genuinely Dutch character.
- ✓For your host: a hanging ornament or a tin of stroopwafels makes a lovely extra when you visit over Christmas.
