Dutch baby clothes: a warm welcome for the smallest Dutchies

In the Netherlands, a birth comes with its own traditions. A wooden stork appears in the front garden, friends and family drop by for the kraamvisite (the new baby visit), and everyone is served beschuit met muisjes: rusks topped with pink or blue aniseed sprinkles. And of course, no one arrives empty-handed. A romper with a windmill or a bib with tulips is a gift that shows straight away where the baby comes from. It's practical, adorable and just a little bit different from everything else in the nursery.

At De Holland Winkel we've been selling Dutch souvenirs and gifts since 2002. In this category you'll find all our Dutch-themed baby clothes and baby gifts in one place: from individual rompers and bibs to complete gift sets and baby's very first cuddly toy.

What's in our Dutch baby collection?

Baby rompers

A romper (or baby bodysuit) is a vest and pants in one: comfortable for the baby and handy at nappy-changing time. Choose from rompers with windmills, bicycles, cows, tulips, the Dutch lion or a Delft Blue canal house.

Baby bibs

Colourful bibs with windmills, kissing couples, "I love Amsterdam" or Delft Blue flowers. Also lovely: the Dutch "Hoera een jongen" and "Hoera een meisje" bibs ("Hooray, it's a boy/girl") as a birth gift.

Baby clogs and booties

Real wooden clogs aren't made for tiny feet, but our soft baby clog slippers certainly are. They come in Delft Blue, orange and pink, featuring Miffy. Warm little feet in true Dutch style.

Baby gift sets

No wrapping required: our gift sets combine a romper with booties, socks or a bib in attractive packaging. There are sets with Amsterdam, The Hague and Holland themes, plus maternity gifts with a stork.

Baby T-shirts

For babies who are growing fast: T-shirts with Miffy on a bike, Miffy by a windmill or an orange "Hup Holland Hup" shirt for the youngest supporter of the Dutch national football team.

Toys and accessories

Complete the gift with a Miffy soft toy, a cuddle cloth, a music box, a baby hat or a Woezel & Pip rattle. Or decorate the nursery with Amsterdam baby bunting.

Miffy: the Netherlands' favourite baby icon

Ever since Dick Bruna first drew her in Utrecht in 1955, Miffy has become one of the best-known Dutch characters in the world. At home in the Netherlands she's called Nijntje. With her simple lines and bright colours she's a perfect match for the very youngest children. In our collection you'll find Miffy baby clothes with a Dutch twist: Miffy with tulips, dressed as a farmer, cycling through Amsterdam or decked out in orange. Looking for more? A Dutch baby gift, near or far

Dutch baby clothes aren't just for babies born in the Netherlands. For families living abroad, a romper with a windmill or an Amsterdam bib is a treasured little piece of home. Baby clothes are also light and easy to post, which makes them one of the simplest baby gifts to send from the Netherlands.
