Delft Blue Ornaments and Figurines
A little Delft Blue cow on the windowsill, a dodo on the bookshelf or an elegant fish on the wall: our Delft Blue figurines and ornaments bring a piece of Dutch heritage into your home. Choose from dozens of miniature animals, from cows, sheep and horses to dachshunds, giraffes and penguins, alongside ceramic wall birds, butterflies, Christmas ornaments and larger decorative pieces. Most miniatures cost around ten euros, so there is always a figurine to suit your budget and the person you are buying for.
Delft Blue figurines: small animals with a long history
When Dutch East India Company (VOC) ships brought Chinese porcelain to Holland in the 17th century, demand was huge. Potters in Delft began imitating the blue-and-white porcelain in earthenware, and Delft Blue was born. It soon went beyond plates and vases. By around 1700, Delft workshops were also making figures: cows, horses, birds and little dogs to display on the mantelpiece or in a cabinet. That tradition lives on in the figurines in this category.
De Holland Winkel has been selling Dutch souvenirs and Delft Blue since 2002. In this category we have gathered all our Delft Blue animals, miniatures and decorative ornaments in one place, so you can easily browse, compare and combine them.
Which Delft Blue figurines can you choose from?
Dutch farm animals
The Delft Blue cow is a classic that has been made for centuries. Place her next to a horse, sheep, bull, chicken, rooster or duck and you have a complete Dutch farm on your windowsill.
Dogs and cats
For pet lovers: choose a bulldog, dachshund, Jack Russell, cocker spaniel or husky, or one of our Delft Blue cats and kittens. A personal gift for any dog lover or cat fan.
Wild and exotic animals
Giraffe, zebra, elephant, rhino, panda, penguin and meerkat, as well as woodland favourites such as the fox, deer, squirrel and owl. Many of these miniatures have their own name, like Georgia the giraffe or Ziggy the zebra.
The Delft Blue dodo
Dutch sailors described the dodo on Mauritius in 1598. Less than a century later, the bird was extinct. As a Delft Blue decorative statue, it is a striking piece with a story to tell.
Wall decorations
Ceramic wall birds, fish in three sizes, a lobster and a set of three butterflies. Hang them in a group for a playful Delft Blue accent in the living room, kitchen or hallway.
Christmas and seasonal ornaments
Delft Blue Christmas ornaments to hang in the tree, ceramic reindeer with gold-coloured antlers, Easter rabbit pendants and a set of three hanging windmills. A little Dutch colour all year round.
A Delft Blue gift for everyone
A Delft Blue figurine is small, affordable and unmistakably Dutch. That makes it a gift that almost always goes down well, whether you hand it to a visiting guest or send it to family on the other side of the world.

Tips for displaying and caring for your figurines
Figurines look their best in small groups, for example three animals of different heights on a windowsill or shelf. Feel free to pair them with a Delft Blue vase or canal house. Dust them with a soft, dry cloth. Decorated ceramics should not go in the dishwasher; a slightly damp cloth is all you need to clean them.
